If I were a religious gal, I would say that God shed his light on this wonderful florist. Allow me to explain ... I ordered my wedding flowers from a wretched online vendor called bigrose.com. My flowers arrived the day before my wedding - in a box - and all I was supposed to do was put them in water so they would "plump up." It was roughly $400 and my priority was not my flowers so I was okay with flowers-in-a-box because they were WAY less expensive than some other places that I called and it included everything from Brid... read more
Delivery for our daughter's memorial service started 35 minutes after appointed time. Flowers were being placed on tables as guests arrived. Written complaint to owner Tracy Callahan resulted in reply which was completely untrue. He indicated order had been completed in 3 minutes, 30 minutes before it had. I was there and he wasn't. Flowers which he said "would last a week" went bad in 2 days.
Awful. Ordered flowers from Teleflora (note to self, don't do that again) and they were delivered by Bethesda Florist. Oh. They weren't. I understand substitutions, but I didn't think that would be substituting a $100+ order with a $40 one. Here's what I thought I was getting. But I didn't. See pictures and you can make up your own mind. The dollar-store vase was the best bit of deception. "Teleflora's Daisy Haze Bouquet features lavender roses, crème spray roses, light yellow carnations, lavender miniature carnations, lav... read more
Terrible customer service post delivery. Flowers showed up to recipient without a card identifying who sent them. Recipient spent a day trying to ask who might have sent her flowers. Called customer service to let them know what happened (didn't ask for a discount or refund or anything) just wanted to ask what happened. Customer service rep blamed the recipient for losing the card because it's impossible to lose the card. Said the card is the only way the delivery driver knows who to give the flowers to because "has not... read more
I sent a bouquet of flowers whose colors were pink, orange, red and all bright ones on the website. I chose this type particularly to cheer my friend up. She texted me to thank me for the flowers but her picture astonished me - it was a combination of greenish white and yellow and dark purple! There was just one red flower - no pink and no orange. They looked rather depressing and that was not the purpose for me to send the flowers to my friend. It is spring now and it would not even difficult to collect flowers that are p... read more
Earlier this month, my husband ordered two arrangements for my father's funeral service, with a special note that lilies were not to be included because of severe allergies and reactions to lilies in the past. Of course, the arrangements ended up having lilies -- about one third of the flowers were lilies. When my husband called about the issue, the owner apologized and said that they had the note about allergies and clearly made a mistake. While the owner said most people aren't allergic to the type of lilies they used... read more

A couple of times a year we find ugly, poor-quality bouquets on our porch, delivered to us from Bethesda Florist because my husband does not have the heart to tell his mother, who lives in Seattle, that Googling "Bethesda florist" is not going to bring up the best florist to use in the Bethesda area (which is York Florist, by the way). The most recent bouquet my mother-in-law ordered from Bethesda Florist was full of flowers that were tattered, creased, and browning at the edges. Also, if you care about aesthetics (and isn't... read more

We’re sorry to hear that the arrangements did not meet your expectations, Phoebe. My husband ordered a huge Valentine's Day arrangement that was delivered, and he specifically requested no pink. Yet the bouquet had a primarily pink theme. I brought the bouquet back to the shop and the first thing they did was argue that the flowers were not pink. I waited less than 5 minutes while they re-arranged it. The bouquet looked even pinker and I couldn't figure out what they had changed until I brought the bouquet home and realized that all they had done was remove the most fragrant and pretty part of the bouquet... read more
Ordered a dozen roses for my wife on Valentine's Day, days in advance. They were delivered at 5:20 pm and one of the roses was broken. Ridiculous. Stay away.
