Agreeing with other posts about unfriendly staff. Buying flowers is a luxury activity that many people want to enjoy, and staffers contribute so much to the experience. The staff was unfriendly, unenthusiastic, and uncomfortably terse. The bouquet I bought was beautiful, though a bit too expensive. It's a beautiful store with beautiful flowers and arrangements. I hope others had great experiences with it; just writing what my visit was like.
I ordered a deluxe sympathy "Peaceful White Lily Basket" from Hansen's, for a wake, when I got to the wake I was pissed off there was not one lily in the lily basket, all white flowers but not one lily - paid a ton for them was very disappointed, but what do you do at a wake. Not like I could take a picture and send to Hansens. Also the confirmation came from a Bruce's Florist, who the hell is Bruce? I used the Hansen website to order. Never again. As a lifetime area resident, I've seen Hansen's quality steadily decline over the years. My mother always ordered flowers from here and I know they cost a fortune compared to area florists, and the flowers just got worse and worse. I was ultimately completely turned off by this place when I called to inquire about wedding flowers and the person on the phone asked about my wedding venue and when I told him where it was, he completely insulted it. Disappointed to see that they don't grow much of anything and are a middleman to other florists. I constantly see other florists selling to them, probably at wholesale, and then Hansen sells them at jacked up prices. The roses have no scent and they barely last 3 days with proper care probably because they have already been cut several days before.

As for your concern about us purchasing flowers from other florists and selling them at higher prices, we only purchase our flowers from certified floral wholesalers, who sell to all retail florists. Both my father and I have always used Hansen's flower shops to send flowers over the years, until today (8/18/14). Due to a mix up with a gift card used for Valentines Day flowers (back in February 2014!), this shop took it upon itself to call my girlfriend AT WORK, have her paged over a loud speaker, and for some idiotic reason decided to tell her *I* was trying to order flowers TODAY and they were unable to confirm my contact information.
